Deals Alert: Shopping Haul – Drugstore Cosmetics

[By Small C]

As you know BLACK FRIDAY is coming and many stores will be doing sales. So, I think it would be great for me to share what I usually purchased online from overseas.

Although I don’t live in UK, I really love UK drugstore cosmetics a lot. They have wide range of brands and products which some are not available in Singapore. Furthermore they are slightly cheaper than buying in Singapore. For the same product, I can save almost half price (when there is promotion / sales going on in UK drugstores) than buying in our local drugstores.

I visited UK last year end-July to Mid-August for my 3-weeks holiday. And, before going there, I did a lot of research of what to buy and what is good to buy. And I did up my shopping list.

My shopping list was mainly DRUG STORE COSMETICS! And due to the SUMMER sales, I managed to get a lot of cosmetics at the real deal! As those stuffs I bought back last year, I already finish using them and threw empties away so I am unable to share much with you. Here is the list of items I bought during my trip.

As I love many of the items I bought during my trip, so I decided to re-purchase them again. Just few months ago, with the help from SHOPandBOX, I managed to purchase some items from the UK drug stores during the summer sales and shipped back to Singapore.

What is SHOPandBOX?

According to their website:

ShopandBox is a peer-to-peer personal shopping service which was founded in November 2013. By seamlessly connecting Shoppers with Boxers (Personal Shoppers) based on shopping interests and geographical location, we make shopping around the world for ANYTHING you want possible. Whether you’re looking to buy limited edition items that won’t make it to your part of the world, or it’s something you saw a few months ago whilst travelling and cannot get out of your head, or products that you know are cheaper elsewhere, ShopandBox provides a platform to help give Shoppers a personalized and unique shopping experience.

ShopandBox has Boxers in more than 20 countries and these ‘shopping pals’ are avid shopaholics who help our growing base of Shoppers from more than 100 countries shop like a local anywhere in the world.

How does it works?

  1. You create an order for items from the same country
  2. A local boxer (local shopper) will be assigned to you
  3. You confirm your items and make payment for the 1st Invoice
  4. Your assigned local boxer (local shopper) will do the shopping for you
  5. Once everything is completed, you pay for 2nd Invoice
  6. Your order will be boxed and shipped to you.

There are many different types of way for you to shop and ship from overseas.

  1. Airfrov – You post your product request and get traveller to bring back overseas products.
  2. vPost – You can shop and ship the items to your given PO box and ship them back to Singapore.
  3. Borderlinx – You shop and ship to the given postal address and they will help you to pack and ship back to Singapore.

So, what did I buy?

Boots_Superdrug_HaulI bought quite a lot of stuffs. I will do a brief description and sharing in this post. I will do the detailed post in the next few posts of the Drugstores Cosmetics Series.

From Boots

(As of 20th November 2017, they are currently having sales of ” 3 for 2 mix and match on self selection cosmetics and beauty accessories”. So it is relatively cheap and money saving. )

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponges 2 Pack – GBP 9.99

 Real_Techniques_Miracle_Complexion_Sponges

I bought 2 sets and currently using 1 set of it. If you are looking for a cheaper make-up sponge that works like Beauty Blender, you can consider Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I find that they both deliver the same results for my make-up. So, this is a good alternative and cheaper option.

L’Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation – GBP 8.99

L'oreal_Infallible_24H_Matte

I really love this foundation a lot. As it really deliver what it promised. My make-up actually stayed and lasted throughout the day. I do not need to do any touch up at all. As this is not available in Singapore, after I finished my previous tube which I purchased during my UK trip, I really regretted not buying extra tubes. So, this time round, I purchased 2 tubes instead.

L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation – GBP 9.99

L'oreal__Infallible_Total_Cover_Foundation

This is another foundation that is not available in Singapore, and back then there was a promotion of “3 for 2”, hence I decided to grab this to try out, as I do not have any foundation that is full coverage. After I purchased, I read quite a number of reviews of this product, some love it, some hate it. So far, I have not yet open it to try yet, but I will do a review once I tested it out to see if I love or hate it.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – GBP 4.19 (I bought it @ GBP 3.99)

Collection_Lasting_Perfection

I heard a lot of good reviews of this concealer, it is like one of the best drugstore concealer. And again, it is not available in Singapore.  I decided to purchase it during my UK trip. And I really love it. So, this haul I also grabbed it too. I bought the Fair Shade 1 & Cool Medium 2.

Collection FaceTheDay Face Palette – GBP 6.99 (I bought @ GBP 3.99)

Collection_#FaceTheDay

I bought this as I were looking for a palette that has bronzer, highlighter, blusher and eyeshadows and so happened that this was having promotion, so I just add it into my cart. I have been using it occasionally ever since I received it.

Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette Nude Rose – GBP 3.99

Collection_eyes_uncovered

I seldom do eyes makeup and I wanted to learn and practice wearing eyeshadow, so I decided to look for a cheaper eyeshadow palette. And I saw quite a lot of reviews on this and I love the colours, so I bought this. Hmmm.. But I have yet to try it. Hopefully soon.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Liquid Foundation – GBP 6.99

Maybelline_Fit_Me_Matte

I saw a lot of youtubers and bloggers were introducing this foundation back then. And Singapore had just launched this foundation, but in glass bottle without any pump which is like you just pour the foundation out. As, I wanted to try this product out and since I were doing this haul, I decided to just purchased it and it is also cheaper than getting it in Singapore as there was this “Buy 1 get 2nd half price” promotion. And I love this packaging more than the glass bottle version as it is in tube form and you can just squeeze the right amount out. This is one of my favourite foundation next after L’oreal Infallible 24-H Matte Foundation.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – GBP 5.99

Maybelline_Fit_Me_Concealer

I read reviews saying that this concealer is comparable to NARS concealer, and since I need to get a 2nd item from Maybelline to enjoy the promotion of “Buy 1 and 2nd half price”, so it was a must buy. I have yet to try this out as I was busy using my collection concealer still. I will try this out once I finished my existing concealer.

From Superdrug

( As of 20th November 2017, it is currently having 3 for 2 Mix and Match)

Make up Revolution Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette (Hot Spice) – GBP 4.00

Makeup-Revolution-Ultra-Blush-Palette-Sugar-Spice-246720

During my trip to UK, my friend bought a lot of palettes from Make Up Revolution but I didn’t get any, as I couldn’t find the one that I want. So during this haul, my friend also purchased Make up Revolution Palettes and because we need to hit a certain amount to get FREE SHIPPING to our boxer’s house, so I decided to get this blusher palette as I do not have one. And this is really cheap, so why not. I have tried some of the colours and I really like it a lot.

The next few items which I bought was to on promotion and that we still short of some amount to hit the free shipping.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder – GBP 3.99

Rimmel-Stay-Matte-Pressed-Powder-Peach-Glow-3-592498

I wanted to try this pressed powder but getting it in Singapore is not as cheap as getting it from the UK. And since like I said, we need to top up to a certain amount to get free shipping, I might as well make full use of it and get this. Furthermore it was on “3 for 2” again.

Rimmel Brow This Way Eyebrow Kit – GBP 3.99

Rimmel-London-Brow-This-Way-Eyebrow-Kit-33g-Mid-Brown-002-307605As I dyed my hair and my existing eyebrow pencils were not matching to my hair colour, so I just bought this one since it was on sales. I like the how my eyebrows look when I used this brow palette.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Mono Blush – GBP 3.99 (FREE)

Rimmel-Lasting-Finish-Mono-Blush-Pink-Rose-20-521850

To enjoy the promotion, I need one more item from Rimmel London. And my friends were telling me that this blusher was good. And I did not have this colour in my collection, I decided to get it. I like colour and the shimmer.

That’s all about it.

I know I bought a lot of cosmetics in this haul. But most of them are really lovely. I will be doing a detailed drugstore cosmetics post soon. So stay tuned~ Meanwhile, if you have any other drugstore cosmetics  that you are using and find them great, you can feel free to share with me or recommend them to me in the comment box below. And hopefully, I am in time to grab them during this ongoing sales.

Oh! And we are currently having a hair mask giveaway on our facebook page. So if you are resident of Singapore, don’t miss it.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post nor a partnership post. Items are strictly purchased and paid for on my own expenses. I just wanted to share some good drugstore cosmetics which I love and find them great and worth trying.
