COSRX Clear Fit Blemish Cushion REVIEW

I am currently into the 2nd month of using  COSRX newly launched cushion foundation, called COSRX Clear Fit Blemish Cushion.

I saw quite a number of youtubers reviewing on this product and given that my skin is very sensitive and keep having pimples with my liquid foundations, I decided to give this a try.

As it just launched, it was not launched on hush.sg, hence, I’ve bought mine at Qoo10 SG from this seller Beauti Topping at S$ 28.90.

I ordered mine on 2nd October 2017 and I received the product on 6th October 2017 due to I have wrongly selected normal mail postage. And started using it on 7th October 2017 till today.

I just bought a new cushion from hush.sg, I will be using my existing cushion and the newly unopened cushion for this post review. Please pardon my dirty looking cushion case and puff.

So, let’s get started…

COSRX Clear Fit Blemish Cushion performs it duty of covering skin while soothing them down with effective ingredients.

Product Description:

The BB cushion that calms and soothes acne prone skin while providing coverage to your blemishes at the same time.

I love the packaging a lot. But when you accidentally stained the case with the product, the casing will get this white stains all over the case. So, you must be really careful when you are using the product. If not, yours might become like mine. This is just that one thing I really feel sad about the case. But, it really look very atas!

How to use:

1. Open the Clear Fit Blemish Cushion and remove the virgin seal / safety seal / safety seal / safety film of the product.
2. Gently press on the sponge wih the puff and apply proper amount of contents on the puff.
3. Spread it evenly and lightly by patting onto the face with the puff.
4. Apply another layer for more coverage.

Okay, so COSRX heard us, they launched more colours for this cushion!! 

New Colour Tone: 

• #27 Deep Beige 

Korean BB cushion always give me this very big problem, the colour tone! Under normal lighting, #21 seems to be my colour tone. All my Korean cushions are at colour tone #21. So, I decided to try #21 Bright Beige. Due to some reasons, I find that #21 is still not that perfect colour for my skin tone. I cannot just wear this product alone as I will look a little too unnatural. I will need to do a semi-full face makeup with my eyebrow, lipstick, blusher and some contouring, in order to make my look more natural.

Look at the swatches below, I use Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control #21 Beige & #21C Cool Beige to show you guys the difference.

Coverage: 

The coverage of the cushion is medium to full coverage. Without much effort, with little product, you will be able to cover the redness and spots. Due to its high coverage, I suggest that you slowly build the product up, so that your finishing look will look a bit more natural. But given that it can cover redness and spots, it delivers what it promises. And you actually save a lot of product which mean you can use this cushion for a longer period of time.

Overall: 

Pros:

1. Soothe & Calm the Skin
2. Fragrance-less
3. Medium to Full Coverage / Buildable
4. Stay on Power

This cushion is definitely suitable for all skin types even if you have sensitive skin. It’s active ingredients in fact really helps to soothe & calm skin and to some extent, it really helps to heal the skin too. For the time I use this cushion, my skin improved a lot. Although, I still have a little blemishes here and there, but at least, my skin don’t have massive breakouts unlike the time where I use liquid foundation.

Somehow, my skin dislike foundation or cushion with fragrance, as this fragrance does sometime irritate my skin and my nose too. But, this cushion does not have any strong fragrance, at least I don’t keep smelling fragrance on my face every breathe I take.

The coverage of the product which I mentioned earlier on in this post, it is easy to build the coverage and with a little product, you will be able to achieve a good coverage for the skin. Hence, you get to save more product and able to use the cushion for a longer period of time.

While, the stay on power of the product, I would say is good. I did not need to do any touch up of my make up at all during the day.

Cons: 

1. Limited Colour Tones
2. Difficult to control the right amount of product
3. Can be too drying
4. T-zone might get oil & shine
5. Under-eye might get crease
6. Does not comes with refill

The limited colour tones make it quite difficult to find the right colour for your skin tone. For me, I like something more netural with cool or pink undertone. Same like other korean cushion, I can never find that right tone for my skin. Thus, I usually have to mix two colour tones cushion together to get the right tone and look I want. And I cannot wear the cushion just by itself. I will look a little bit out of space.  Hopefully, COSRX can release more colour tones in future to suit many. Maybe, I should try #23 Natural Beige to see if it is that RIGHT colour for me.

Unlike other cushions, COSRX cushion sponge does not have a layer of net covering the sponge. Thus, at time you might get more product onto the puff, which can resulted in applying a very thick layer of product onto skin and causing your makeup look to be a little unnatural.

Also unlike the other cushions, COSRX cushion is not so much of dewy looking. It is somehow a little matte finishing, which is good for oily skin type. But also because product is towards the matte finishing look, it is very important that you do your moisturising step properly. Otherwise, you might find it a little too dry for your skin. Especially when my skin type is oily to combination skin, some days I find this cushion a little too drying for my skin but usually, it is good and fine.

So, I strongly encourage you to do a good and proper skincare hydrating before applying this product.

Although the staying power is good, I still find my T-zone gets oil & shine. Maybe is because of the humid weather of Singapore. So, I would layer primer before applying the cushion and also I would apply a little amount of loose powder to make the stay on power last longer and also to prevent my T-zone from looking oily and shiny during the HOT afternoons.

Sometimes, over applying product under the under-eye area, I can find crease lines by afternoon. So, you must remember to do your proper eye-care and try to avoid slamming product onto your under-eye to prevent crease lines from appearing. I will use my under-eye concealer to cover my semi-dark circles instead.

Usually, the korean brands cushion comes in 1 case with refill and a separate refill pack in a box. But for now COSRX, it does not comes with any refill pack. You will need to keep buying the one with case should you need to replace your cushion. Thus, I find it a little wasteful. I prefer buying refill pack than getting a full set over and over again. And in fact, it is a little more expensive. So, I just hope that COSRX can release refill pack soon!!

Overall, I think COSRX Clear Fit Blemish Cushion is really a good one and worth the try. For now, I will continue using it until my skin get better.
