Being mum means freckles and pigmentation for me… not that I am ever that concerned about the face but I really hope to have good complexion!
Ageing of course is also a concern and so I started hunting for sunscreens. I didn’t like those that are sticky or leaves a white residue or makes my skin oily after just half a day…
I wanted something that was
- with SPF level between 26-50 and PA++
- easy to apply and absorbs quickly
- Hydrating but not oily or sticky
- Not drying either
The Face Shop Dr Belmeur’s Daily Repair Blue sunscreen attracted my attention with its blue fluid!
So one fine day I spotted the Dr Belmeur series that looks totally like one that suits sensitive skin!
Dr Belmeur is a skincare line formulated without 10 additives and artificial fragrance. Dermatologically tested, this line provides gentle skincare and barrier enhancing solution such as dry-sensitive or acne-prone skin.
So I tried the sunscreen and was surprised that the BLUE was indeed reflected in the colour of the liquid. The blue is actually from the ingredient guaiazlence which has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antispasmodic, antibacterial, antipyretic, ulcer-protective, and antifungal properties!
And it leaves a cooling feeling after I applied it on my inner forearm. Usually I like to test product here as any sensitivity would usually trigger redness. But when I use the product, I like to put it on my hand before dotting it on my face!
The bottle design is nice and of a handy shape and size (50ml).
I like the viscosity of the sunscreen. It’s pretty fluid yet not that watery. My Orbis sunscreen was more watery and it can be a little difficult to manage.
But somehow the application sometimes don’t feel smooth and easy to blend with my fingers.
It feels a little sticky after I finish applying. Sticky by my definition is when my hair gets stuck on my face.
However, after around 10min, it gets absorbed and not sticky nor oily. And the (mild) cool feeling is there.
So I suspect it might be due to my moisturiser. Or not leaving enough time for it to absorb before slapping this Dr Belmeur on.
It stays good throughout the day without leaving excessive oily residue even after going out to the hot sun!
Neither does it dry up my skin (like my Orbis sometimes do).
The only deterring factor is the price! This would cost me S$30.90 if I purchase it at The Face Shop stores. Thankfully I managed to find it online and it shockingly saved me a lot of money!
If you have sensitive skin and is still hunting for a suitable sunscreen, you should try this!
